Teak Company Gives Villagers 40m/-
The Kilombero Valley Teak Company Ltd. (KVTC) has donated a total of 40m/- to Kilombero and Ulanga districts for development.
KVTC Community Development Manager, Kennedy Haule said the money is part of the funds given to villages in the districts every year for community development projects.
He said the company has been releasing the funds for health, education and infrastructure sectors, since its inception in 1995.
The ten villages, benefiting from the funds include Milola, Igumbiro, Lupiro, Nakafuru, Kidugalo, Iragua, Itete Mianzini and Mavimba in Ulanga district. Others are Namawala and Idete in Kilombero district.
Speaking at the handover ceremony the Kilombero District Council Chairman Hassan Goagoa commended the company for its contribution to the development of the two districts, calling on it to continue working with the two councils to speed up development activities.
